Hi, I'm Nyssa. Career-long educator and #curriculumnerd who loves cats, palak paneer, and dark coffee. (Total foodie, here!)
I live outside of Amsterdam with my little pride of domesticated lions (don't try and tell them that they are house cats)!
After growing up in Minnesota and enjoying the lakes, yoga community, and amazing public schools, I jumped into international school teaching which took me to India, Namibia, The Netherlands, and South Africa.
My happy place is traveling - which has taken a Covid-sized hit recently. I have racked up 40+ countries - and am itching to add more.
As a career-long professional educator, I have served as a teacher, teacher leader, curriculum lead, state-level curriculum coordinator, and international curriculum consultant with schools and educators on 6 continents. An international presenter on the topic of curriculum and instruction, I have certifications in coaching, curriculum design, and learning leadership. I was raised bilingual and bicultural (German) in the US, and I thrive on embracing and celebrating diversity and context in the learning process.
Since 2020, I have created and released 7 online courses that have served thousands of people, including multiple 5-figure launches. I value collaboration with other experts in my field and celebrate diverse voices and viewpoints through the online courses I create.
When I am not coaching course creators on curriculum design, I have the privilege of working with schools around the world to design transformative teaching and learning for young people through my business, Music Ed Forward.
